Why he might be annoying:

He admitted he was not a fan of sci-fi or fantasy before working on 'Angel.'
He did not have an agent until he had already appeared on 'Angel.'
He was unsure how Lorne would be received by fans, so he kept his day job as a personal assistant during his first season on the show.
He said of his three-hour make-up sessions, 'It doesn't make me any more pleasant. The makeup people hate me, they call me the old green bitch.'

Why he might not be annoying:

Joss Whedon created the role of Lorne for him after seeing him in a blues revue.
He said, 'I love singing anywhere, whether the audience is big or small.... I always love it if the audience is digging it.
He developed heart disease from an infected tooth and died from heart failure at age 33.
