World Leader

The Resume

    (November 19, 1977- )
    Born in Aalborg, Denmark
Leader of the Social Democrat Party (assumed position June 28, 2015)
Prime Minister of Denmark (Assumed office June 27, 2019)

Why she might be annoying:

She has been supportive of hard-line policies against immigration and Islam.
Specifically, this has included voting for a ban on full-face veils ('niqabs') and putting a cap on 'non-western' immigrants.
She came to international attention after President Donald Trump cancelled a state visit to Denmark, over her refusal to support selling Greenland (August 2019).

Why she might not be annoying:

She is the youngest Prime Minister in Denmark's history.
She is only Denmark's second female Prime Minister (the first being Helle Thorning-Schmidt, whose administration she served in).
She started her political career at age 15 (and was appointed to her first position at the age of 24).
She has supported a plan to combat climate change that will reduce Denmark’s Carbon Emissions seventy percent within ten years.
Her response to President Trump's inquiry, which apparently led to the cancellation of the visit, was as follows: 'Greenland is not for sale. Greenland is not Danish. Greenland belongs to Greenland. I strongly hope that this is not meant seriously.' (Trump later called her 'nasty' and 'not very nice' in retaliation).
