Their original name implies they kill bison.
They were yet another professional team in Buffalo whose logo concentrated more on buffalo than the team's nickname.
They never had a winning record while at Buffalo.
Their first few years in Columbus didn't produce a winning record either.
Their original Columbus advertising campaign involved marketing Ohio State University alumni while ignoring the best players.

Why they might not be annoying:

They had more success in attendance in Columbus than in Buffalo.
From 1999 to 2005, they had a different leading passer, rusher and receiver each year.
NFL receiver Joey Galloway had an ownership stake in the team.
