Why she might be annoying:

She started as a herpetology major at Columbia, transfered through three additional colleges, and finally ended up with a degree from Cornell.
Her first marriage, to fellow student Everett Chapman, lasted less than two years.
He first Life cover photo was titled 'New Deal, Montana: Fort Peck Dam,' but is actually a photo of the spillway three miles south of the dam.
She bossed about fellow journalists at Life.
Her secretary called her 'the kind of woman I didn't want to be... lacking in human relationships.'

Why she might not be annoying:

During World War II, she covered the German bombing of Moscow, the US Army campaigns in North Africa and Italy and the liberation of the concentration camps.
Nicknamed 'Maggie the Indestructible,' she survived a ship sinking in the Mediterranean, straffing attacks by the Luftwaffe and a helicopter crash into Chesapeake Bay.
She photographed an iconic portrait of Gandhi at his spinning wheel.
Photojournalist Alfred Eisenstaedt said her strength was that no picture was unimportant to her.
She was so important to the success of Life magazine that they kept her on their masthead a dozen years after Parkinson's disease left her unable to take photos.
