TV Reality Show Contestant

The Resume

    (1986- )
    Born in Oak Cliff, Texas
Lawyer with Cooper & Sculley (Dallas, Texas)
Star of ABC's The Bachelorette, Season 13 (Summer, 2017)
Contestant on Nick Viall's season of The Bachelor (2017); placed fourth overall, eliminated Week 10 (Mar. 6, 2017)
Made history as the first African-American contestant to become the Bachelorette in the franchise's history

Why she might be annoying:

She's the second known Bachelorette to have a phobia of birds/flying animals.
She looks like the Trump campaign's professional 'half truth teller' Katrina.
Her selection as 'the Bachelorette' was accompanied with criticism that it was an 'Affirmative Action' response to the #OscarsSoWhite controversy.
The decision was a badly kept secret, and it was leaked even before the season even officially aired that (at least) a black woman would make it 'to the top three.'
In fact, by February, barely into the third episode, Chris Harrison made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live to formally announce Rachel as their 'Black Bachelorette.'
However some viewers mistakenly believed that the season's 'other' featured black contestant, Jasmine, was going to be bestowed the honor by producers (incidentally this was the same contestant who repeatedly threatened to 'choke' Nick on a date).
She drew comparisons with Tennessee-based dentist Misee Harris, who waged her own brazen social media campaign, in 2013, to become the franchise's first 'Black Bachelorette.'
Even though her future was fairly certain to viewers, her elimination drew scrutiny from fans because it was done after sharing 'the Fantasy Suite' with Nick, and after telling him 'she loved him' (wow, now there's an original complaint!)
But many Bachelor Nation junkies also took legitimate issue with the bizarre stunt producers arranged for her at the 'Women Tell All Event,' having Lindsay meet four of her 'suitors' before even shooting her own season.

Why she might not be annoying:

Her selection drew out predictably racist cyberbully trolls.
She played intramural basketball in college.
She does volunteer work at Beacon Hill Preparatory Institute, tutoring students in reading, writing, and SAT prep.
She listed Prince, Jean-Michel Basquiat, and Michael Jackson as her favorite artists.
She named Michelle Obama as her professional role model.
Along with Andi Dorfman and Ali Fedotowsky, she's one of the most accomplished women to ever become the Bachelorette.
She graduated with a BA in Kinesiology and Sports Management from the University of Texas in 2007.
She earned her Juris Doctor (JD) in Law from Marquette University Law School (2011).
She entered both the Texas State Bar and the Wisconsin State Bar, before being admitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas (2012).
She worked as a legal intern in the Public Defender’s Office, at one point representing the Milwaukee Bucks.
She was the first black contestant to receive the 'first impression rose' in the series' history.
She has drawn comparisons to Vanessa Williams (the first black Miss America) and Beverly Johnson (first black woman to be on the cover of Vogue).
