    Provided the voice of Bambi in the animated Disney film (1942)
    Joined the U.S. Marine Corps (1952)

Why he might be annoying:

    He was unable to attend the premier of 'Bambi' after he and his mother came down with the flu, and there were worries the two would infect everyone else at the screening.
    He said that after being in 'Bambi,' he could never shoot an animal, yet he had no compunction about shooting people.
    He kept his background as a child actor secret when he joined the Marines: 'I could just hear all the boys calling home to their mothers and saying 'Hey mom, guess who my commanding officer is - Major Bambi.' '

Why he might not be annoying:

    He was his family's main breadwinner before reaching his teens.
    He was the youngest drill instructor in Marine Corps history.
    He served three tours of duty in Vietnam, earning the Bronze Star.
    He also received three Purple Hearts, having been shot, stabbed and struck by shrapnel.
    He lost most of his savings when Enron collapsed.
    He said, 'Is there any incongruity in being a tough old Marine and loving Bambi? No.'
