Why he might be annoying:

He dropped out of school after the fifth grade.
He became a professional fighter at 15 years old.
He fled the United States to avoid a one year prison sentence, becoming a fugitive.
    He taunted his boxing opponents.
He made sure to exhaust and beat the crap out of his opponents before knocking them out.
He said: 'Every colored lady I ever went with two-timed me, white girls didn’t.'
He lost his World Heavyweight Title to Jess Willard by way of knockout in the 26th round (April 5, 1915).
He didn't give other blacks an opportunity to fight him for the title, because he was paid more money to face white fighters.
He worked as a matador while living in Spain.
    He divorced his first wife.
His second wife shot herself to death after one year of marriage.
His third wife was his secretary.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was the first black man to become World Heavyweight Champion (defeated Tommy Burns - 1908).
He sparked the search for the 'Great White Hope,' a desperate plea for white people to regain the Heavyweight title for a white boxer.
He beat Jim Jeffries in the 15th round of 'The Fight of the Century' (July 4, 1910).
He was the victim of harsh racism.
He was arrested for transporting a white girl across state lines for, what law enforcers believed, immoral and non-consensual purposes. Interestingly, that girl was his fiancee and future wife.
While in prison, he invented the adjustable wrench (1922).
He enjoyed an interracial marriage in a time where it was heavily frowned upon.
He was an uplifting figure for black Americans in a racially unequal society.
    He enjoyed racing cars.
He was romantically linked to Mae West.
His boxing career spanned over 50 years (1894-1945).
