    His version of Procul Harum's 'A Whiter Shade of Pale' was included on Rhino Records' 'Golden Throats: The Great Celebrity Sing-Off' and Kenny Everett's 'The Worst Records Ever Made' compilation.
    He said, 'I didn't like being a celebrity.... I felt as if I was exposing my emotional state in a fish bowl.'
    He represented Great Britain in skiing at the 1952 and 1956 Winter Olympics.
    He recorded the Oscar-winning song 'The Windmills of Your Mind' for the film 'The Thomas Crown Affair' and had a top ten single with it in the UK.
    While living in Canada, he built his own house by hand. (Unfortunately it later burned down after a wood stove caught fire.)
    He toured in a one-man show of Jacques Brel songs.
