Birth name is Dannie Scott Goeb
Member of the Texas Senate from the 7th district (2007-15)

Why he might be annoying:

He once painted his entire body blue for a Houston Oilers game.
He is a hardliner against state abortion rights, including in cases of rape and incest.
He opposes same-sex marriage and supports teaching creationism in schools.
He attempted to push a Texas counterpart to North Carolina's controversial HB2 Transgender Bathroom bill in 2016.
He was universally criticized for arguing that the COVID-19 pandemic lockdowns she be lifted in order for Americans to go back to work during an appearance on Tucker Carlson.
His comments verbatim were: 'No one reached out to me and said as a senior citizen, are you willing to take a chance on your survival in exchange for keeping the America that all America loves for your children and grandchildren. If that’s the exchange, I’m all in. Let’s get back to work, let’s get back to living. Let’s be smart about it, and those of us who are 70-plus, we’ll take care of ourselves. But don’t sacrifice the country.'
He made similar comments less than a month later, again in favor of reopening the country ('There are more important things than living.')

Why he might not be annoying:

    He discovered Rush Limbaugh.
He started out as a local sportscaster.
He had a successful talk radio career.
He formed a successful chain of sports bars (which later went bankrupt, prompting his return to talk radio).
He led protests against Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect over the controversial statement the comedian made about the 9/11 terror attacks.
He created a Tea Party caucus in the state legislature, which led to his becoming a one of the most popular figures in Texas politics.
His comments were reflective of the economic dilemma many Americans face during the global pandemic.
