    Drafted 82nd overall by the New Jersey Devils in the 1998 NHL Entry Draft
    Right winger for the New Jersey Devils (2001-09), Montreal Canadiens (2009-14) and the Buffalo Sabres

    He is considered too undersized to be an NHL forward.
    Despite claiming to be a 'New Jersey Devilfor life', he opted to sign with Montreal for more money.
    His productivity declined during his senior season at Boston College, after being appointed team captain.
    He is nicknamed 'Gio' by teammates.
    His productivity declined considerably during his final seasons with the Devils.

    He guided Boston College to a NCAA Frozen Four title (2001).
    He earned a Stanley Cup ring during his first full season with the Devils (2003).
    He, along with Patrik Elias and Scott Gomez formed the Devils famed 'EGG Line', during the mid 2000's.
    He scored the first New Jersey Devils home goal at the Prudential Center (2007).
    Despite his small stature, he defied the odds and became an everyday player upon making the Devils' roster.
