    Guitarist, singer and songwriter
Member of Crazy Horse (1969-71), Grin (1969-74) and the E Street Band (1984-89,1999- )
Recorded the solo albums 'Nils Lofgren' (1975), 'Back It Up!! (Live)' (1975), 'Cry Tough' (1976), 'I Came To Dance' (1977), 'Night After Night' (1978), 'Nils' (1979), 'Flip' (1985), 'Silver Lining' (1991), 'Crooked Line' (1992), 'Acoustic Live' (1997) and 'The Loner: Nils Sings Neil' (2008)
Left handed, but plays guitar right handed
Before getting into rock, he studied classical accordion for ten years.
He was considered to replace Mick Taylor in the Rolling Stones, but was passed over in favor of Ron Wood.
He appeared in the godawful 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' movie (1978).
Thanks to decades of acrobatic leaps onstage, he had to have both hips replaced (2008).
He was a competitive gymnast in high school, a skill he put to use in concert, where he would play guitar while performing back flips on a trampoline.
Bruce Springsteen and producer Jon Landau studied Lofgren's first solo album before recording 'Born to Run,' a fact that Lofgren said 'completely blew my mind.'
He recorded 'Bullets Fever' for the Washington Bullets 1978 NBA championship team.
After Steve Van Zandt returned to the E Street Band (1999), he noted that between himself, Springsteen, Van Zandt and Patti Scialfa, the band had four guitarists 'and there are very, very few songs that needed four guitars,' so he learned slide guitar, pedal steel guitar and dobro to provide some more variety.
