Why Thirtysomething might be annoying:

If it was broadcast during the daytime, it would more than likely have been considered a soap opera.
It reached for an audience that could identify with the baby boomers in their thirties; namely, other baby boomers.
It sometimes over-exaggerated trivial problems of the characters and came off as too dramatic.
Most of the actors/actresses involved in the show have not went on to have great careers.
The people that named the show apparently thought it was cooler not to capitalize or use appropriate spacing.
It only lasted 85 episodes.

Why Thirtysomething might not be annoying:

It lead to the coinage of the word 'twentysomething' as younger Americans had shown themselves to be distinct in personality from the 'thirtysomething' characters.
It has a devoted cult following years after going off the air.
It was critically acclaimed throughout its short run.
