Why he might be annoying:

    He was married and divorced twice.
    He originally planned to be an accountant before switching gears and going into acting.
    He was typecast in British films as a comedic eccentric.
    For the DVD of 'The Empire Strikes Back,' his scene was refilmed with Ian McDiarmid to provide better continuity with 'Return of the Jedi' and the prequels.

    He won a scholarship to study at London's Old Vic Theatre School.
    He was nominated for Tony Awards for 'Irmna La Douce' and 'Oliver!'
    He starred in the BBC production of Gilbert and Sullivan's 'The Mikado.' (1983)
