He was short, with his pudgy face, broad mouth, and nasal voice.
He was typecast as criminals and assorted anti-heros.
He was unintentionally funny as Dathan in 'The Ten Commandments,' uttering such lines in his nasal voice as, 'Moses has words. Pharaoh has spears!'
He divorced his wife after twenty-nine years of marriage.
Though he was in close to 100 movies, he was never nominated for an Academy Award.
