Football Player
    (August 18, 1983- )
    Born in Shelton, Connecticut
Drafted 145th overall by the Detroit Lions in the 2005 NFL Draft
Quarterback for the Detroit Lions (2005-2008), Houston Texans (2009-2010), Indianapolis Colts (2011) and Tampa Bay Buccaneers
He was one of Matt Millen's screw-up picks.
He turned down offers to play at notable football programs such as Purdue and Michigan.
Prior to 2008, he was relegated to third string status on poor Lions teams.
He ran into the end zone causing a safety which led to the Lions eventual defeat and handed the team their fifth straight loss.
Many casual football fans remember him for his contributions to the Lions during their infamous 0-16 season.
He led his high school football team to the state championship (2002).
He opted to attend the University of Connecticut, citing he wanted to help elevate the school's football program to the Big East Conference.
He made his NFL debut during the Thanksgiving Classic.
He opted to leave the Lions and sign with Houston for a better chance at competing for a starting job.
As a child, he would commonly practice throwing the football at garbage cans to test his accuracy.
