    Hosted the British TV series and specials 'Mind Control' (2000-03), 'Darren Brown Plays Russian Roulette Live' (2003), 'Derren Brown: Seance' (2004), 'Tricks of the Mind' (2004-06), 'Derren Brown: Messiah' (2005), 'Derren Brown: The Gathering' (2005), 'Derren Brown: The Heist' (2006), 'Trick or Treat' (2007-08), 'Derren Brown: The System' (2008), 'Derren Brown: The Events' (2009), 'Derren Brown Investigates' (2010), 'Derren Brown: Hero at 30,000 Feet' (2010), 'Derren Brown: The Experiments' (2011) and 'Derren Brown: Miracles for Sale' (2011)
    His Russian Roulette special was condemned by police officials who worried about possible copycats.
    He presented his 'Seance' special as a live event, but it was actually taped.
    In his shows, he frequently tells you how the trick was done, but many of his explanations are bogus.
    The Times wrote, 'Derren Brown turns from the most intriguing man on television to the most irritating.'
    He has a taxidermy collection he describes as 'freaky.'
    He said, 'Frankly, I think I'm just a balding goateed show-off.'
    He exposes the techniques used by psychics, faith healers and other people claiming paranormal powers.
    His caricatures of celebrities have been exhibited at art galleries.
    He said, 'I don't condone gambling of any sort, unless you can cheat effectively and stack the odds at least 90% in your favor.'
    His stage show, 'Something Wicked This Way Comes,' won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Entertainment Show (2006).
    'The Stage' wrote, 'His greatest achievement is in taking the fusty world of magic and dragging it by its faded velvet lapels into the 21st century.'
    He said, 'I am often dishonest in my techniques, but always honest about my dishonesty. As I say in each show, 'I mix magic, suggestion, psychology, misdirection and showmanship.' '
