    Born in Nashville, Tennessee
    CEO of Pepsi-Cola (1949-59)
Fourth (and final) husband of Joan Crawford (1955-59)
He was divorced twice before marrying Crawford.
He defected from Coke (where he was VP of marketing) to Pepsi.

On the crypt he shares with Crawford, his middle initial is incorrectly written as 'M.'
He launched a PR campaign to shed Pepsi's image as a poor man's soda.
Under his management, Pepsi's annual profits increased from $1.3 million to $14.2 million.
Crawford said he the only one of her husbands who truly loved her.
Crawford said, 'He wasn't as handsome as Doug or Clark or Franchot or Philip [Terry], but he had a virility, a sense of assurance, that made him the center of attention in any room.'
