Why they might be annoying:

They are eight of 17 offspring produced by their parents, who emigrated from Tonga to Minnesota.
They were nominated for a Grammy Award in 1988 for 'Rocket 2 U' and lost.
Eugene left the band in 1988 to go solo as Gene Hunt.
This was a precursor as Eddie, Elizabeth and Kathi soon followed suit.
Once the '80s were over, their style of music ran out of favor and they turned toward gospel music.
The younger siblings started their own group in the '90s, calling themselves 'The Jetts.'
Adding the extra 't' provided no magic and they fell into obscurity.

Why they might not be annoying:

They are a close-knit family who encourage one another.
They have five hits that made it to the Top 10 on Billboard's Singles charts.
Two of their songs hit #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart, including the Rupert Holmes penned song 'You Got It All.'
'Cross My Broken Heart' was featured in the 1987 Eddie Murphy movie 'Beverly Hills Cop II.'
'Sendin' All My Love' hit #1 on the U.S. Dance chart in 1988.
They sang 'The Star-Spangled Banner' for Game 7 of the 1987 World Series as hometwon favorites of the Minnesota Twins (who won).
They also sang at the 1991 Stanley Cup Finals as guests of the Minnesota North Stars.
