Why they might be annoying:

    They are religious zealots.
They chained and padlocked their children to their beds.
They refused to allow the children to shower or use the bathroom.
They beat their children if they washed themselves above the wrist.
They refused to allow their relatives to see their children, except for special occasions.
They registered themselves as a home school as a way to conceal the abuse that was going on in the home.
Despite calling themselves a homeschool, they refused to teach their children anything about the outside world.
Despite being a large family, they seldom bought groceries and would often purchase pies to taunt the children.
They would give their chiidren one meal a day and in small portions.
They were described as being extremely reclusive by former neighbors.
They left a former residence they had in Texas in serious disarray and despite the fact it had evident signs that abuse took place, the neighbors failed to report it to the authorities.
Their children were severely malnourished and pale, where they appeared to look younger then they actually were.
David filed for bankruptcy in 2011.
Louise was 16 when she met and eloped with David.

Why they might not be annoying:

They got arrested after one of their daughters escaped through a window and called 9-1-1 from a deactivated cell phone.

When word of the abuse scandal became public, some former classmates of the elder children showed remorse for their behavior towards them, as they were unaware of the abuse taking place in the home.
