Why he might be annoying:

He was accidentally shot and killed when his friend tried to light a match on the wood panel of an antique pistol.
His mother was never informed of his death because his friends sent her holiday cards with his signature.
He disliked being called a ‘crooner.’

Why he might not be annoying:

Tiny Tim's album 'Prisoner of Love' was a tribute to him.
Even though Lansing Brown was cleared of any wrong doing he spent the rest of his life guilt-ridden.
He was dating Carole Lombard at the time of his death and they are buried in the same cemetery.
He was a talented violinist as well as a singer.
