Nicknamed ‘the Orchid Lady of the Screen’
Wrote eleven books, including the best-sellers ‘My Life with the Redskins’ (1947) and ‘Papa’s Delicate Condition’ (1952)

Why she might be annoying:

Her nasal voice kept her from successfully making a transition to talking pictures.
When ‘Papa’s Delicate Condition’ was made into a movie, her name was misspelled ‘Corrine’ in the credits.
All four of her marriages ended in either divorce or annulment.
Her shortest marriage, to Danny Scholl, an actor three decades younger than her, lasted 33 days (1965).
During the judicial hearing to annul her marriage to Scholl, she claimed that she was not Corinne Griffith but was really Corinne’s younger sister, who had taken Corinne’s identity upon Corinne’s death.
Although testimony at the hearing established that she was Corinne Griffith, she continued to insist otherwise a decade later in an interview with ‘Photoplay’ magazine.

Why she might not be annoying:

She was considered one of the most beautiful actresses of the silent era.
She was nominated for an Oscar as Best Actress for ‘The Divine Lady.’
During her marriage to Washington Redskins owner George Preston Marshall, she wrote the lyrics for the fight song ‘Hail to the Redskins.’
She successfully invested in real estate, owning four large office buildings in Los Angeles.
She was the first woman to address the National Board of Realtors.
She campaigned to abolish the income tax.
