It’s hot and humid.
It is in the hurricane belt.
Its nickname is ‘Tallytown.’
It is located on the site of 'abandoned' (that's putting it nicely) Indian settlements.
Spanish invaders killed the native Apalachees with smallpox-infected blankets, and Andrew Jackson killed the native Seminoles with guns.
It has so many old Indian burial grounds that it’s surprising more horror movies aren’t set there.
As the capital of Florida, it was the scene of chaos during the hideous, contested 2000 presidential election.
