Why he might be annoying:

The 'O' for his middle name does not stand for anything.
He was divorced.
He became addicted to stimulants and gambling.
He strategically married the daughter of Louis B. Mayer to advance his career.
He was known for his obsessive control over the films he produced.
He fought with many directors, including King Vidor and Alfred Hitchcock.
Hitchcock detested Selznick so much that he made the villain in one of his films ('Rear Window') resemble him.

He produced some of the most highly acclaimed films ever made.
He saved RKO Radio Pictures from bankruptcy.
He brought Ingrid Bergman to Hollywood.
He won two Oscars and was nominated for four others.
He won the Irving Thalberg Memorial Reward (1940).
He said: 'Very few people have mastered the art of enjoying their wealth. I have mastered the art, and therefore spend time enjoying myself.'
