Politician

The Resume

    (March 7, 1979- )
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico
Birth name is Ricardo Antonio Nevares
    Governor of Puerto Rico (2017-19)
Forced to resign following mass protests relating to the Telegramgate scandal and his handling of Hurricane Maria (Aug. 2, 2019)
Son of former Puerto Rico governor Pedro Rossello

Why he might be annoying:

He was rumored to have caused the death of Lilliam Alfonso Nogales and her son when he allegedly drove a vehicle without a drivers license under the influence (June 25, 1994).
His political capital was predicated on his being the son of a former governor rather than being an actual public servant himself.
He was accused of political corruption and delaying promised funds for Hurricane Maria recovery.
He faced widespread controversy after a group chat on a Telegram app between Rosselló and his staff was made public (July 2019).
The chat included vulgar misogynistic and homophobic language, a discussion of the operation of Internet troll networks on social media, and even referenced an alleged death threat made he made toward San Juan Mayor, Carmen Yulín Cruz - the outrage over the leak was dubbed 'Telegramgate.'

Why he might not be annoying:

His cousin is Roy Rossello, of Menudo fame.
He strongly favors granting statehood to Puerto Rico.
He founded the political advocacy group 'Boricua Ahora Es.'
He inherited many problems related to government debt from the previous administration.
He had a briefly successful working relationship with President Trump in securing Hurricane Maria relief funds before the two turned on each other.
Specifically, when speaking about President Trump he said 'If the bully gets close, I'll punch the bully in the mouth. It would be a mistake to confuse courtesy with courage' (Trump called him 'a terrible governor' in retaliation).
