Why he might be annoying:

'Banned in the U.S.A.' is a rip off of Springsteen's 'Born in the U.S.A.'
Their lyrics are are both sexist and smut-for-smut's-sake.
Luther Campbell has a huge gap in his teeth.
LucasFilms was going to sue Luther Campbell for using the name 'Luke Skyywalker'
'As Nasty As They Want To Be' was judged obscene in Florida's Broward County (1990).
The band, in defiance of the obscenity law, performed 'As Nasty' in a Florida concert and were arrested.
Luke felt he was bigger than the group and recorded an album as Luke featuring the 2 Live Crew. The rest of the band began legal actions over this credit.
Because of being exonerated from the obscenity conviction, other musicians have been encourage to be even lewder and more vulgar and explicit and even more misogynist.

Why he might not be annoying:

Luke Campbell formed his own Luke Skyywalker record label (1986).
In his autobiography, Campbell outlined his goal; having his detractors 'get the fuck out of our way while we go for our own slice of the American pie' (1992).
Due to 'As Nasty' was judged obscene, they recorded 'Banned In The U.S.A.' They also appealed the conviction and won.
They challenged the obscenity ruling and defended their First Amendment rights.
Thanks to being exonerated from their obscenity conviction, today's musicians are able to record lyrics musicians of past generations could only dream of doing.
