She was twice divorce and only wed famous people (Churchill's son, producer Leland Hayward and NY Governor Averell Harriman).
She is primarily famous for the men she had relationship with, which also included the heir to the Fiat fortune and Frank Sinatra.
She was born into privilege but did not take advantage of the educational opportunities.

She helped raise $12 million for the successful Clinton-Gore campaign for the presidency (1992).
