The Resume

    (July 24, 1965- )
Born in New York City, New York
Directed the films ‘Swingers’ (1996), ‘Go’ (1999), ‘The Bourne Identity’ (2002), ‘Mr. & Mrs. Smith’ (2005), ‘Jumper’ (2008), ‘Fair Game’ (2010), ‘The Edge of Tomorrow’ (2014) and ‘American Made’ (2017)
Directed the first two episodes of The O.C.

Why he might be annoying:

He has trouble making eye contact with people when he first meets them.
In college, he was arrested for stealing a traffic light.
He kept most of the $5 million made from selling ‘Swingers’ to Miramax, resulting in screenwriter/star Jon Favreau refusing to talk to him for several years.
During filming of ‘The Bourne Identity,’ he paid the crew overtime to light a forest so he could play paintball.
Not too surprisingly, Universal Studios replaced him with Paul Greengrass for the sequels.
He referred to ‘The Bourne Identity,’ ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ and ‘Jumper’ as ‘my sell-out trilogy.’

Why he might not be annoying:

While attending Brown University, he co-founded the student-run cable television station BTV and served as the first station manager.
He raised most of the $250,000 needed to film ‘Swingers’ by soliciting investments from clients of his father, attorney Arthur Liman.
He won the MTV Movie Award for Best New Filmmaker for ‘Swingers.’
He filmed a memorable Nike commercial in which Tiger Woods repeatedly bounced a golf ball on his club then drove it into the distance (1999).
