Why he might be annoying
He had strong ties with Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.
He was involved in a workers' protest against a British manager, and he ended up fleeing to Najaf in Iraq to escape arrest (1943).
He lived a weird life while staying in Najaf, working as a carpenter for half of each day and studying at a seminary for the other half.
He organized assassinations on politicians deemed antagonistic towards Islam, such as Ahmad Kasravi.
The two v’s in his name look so close that they look like a ‘w’.
He was highly critical of university education, claiming that they have produced ‘excessive waste’ .
Many members of the Fadayan-e Islam work for the Iranian government.
The Iranian government declared him a ‘martyr’ despite his terrorist actions.
Why he might not be annoying
He was charismatic and potentially attractive, which probably won him followers.
He and his followers are mostly young poor men, so they probably got really mad at the authorities of their time because of their economic circumstances.
An expressway and metro stop in Tehran are named after him.
