Why he might be annoying:

He pushed Macaulay Culkin and Kieran Culkin too hard.
He threatened to pull Macaulay from 'Home Alone 2 (1992)' if he wasn't cast in 'The Good Son (1993)' opposite Elijah Wood.
Hollywood producers labelled him a bully.
He and Patricia Bentrup had seven kids out of wedlock.
When he and Bentrup split in 1995, there was a huge custody battle over the children and Macaulay's finances. Bentrup was given custody of all seven children.
Due to his legal battles Macaulay vowed to never do another movie. That vow lasted until 2003.

He was the victim of his own pushy stage mom.
He made efforts to reunite with Macaulay.
