Boss of the Genovese crime family (1981-2005)
Convicted of racketeering and conspiracy charges (1997)

Why he might be annoying:

He served five years in prison for heroin trafficking (1959-64).
After his release, he feigned insanity, wandering the streets of Greenwich Village in his bathrobe, muttering incoherently to himself.
His act got bribery charges against him dismissed (1969) and delayed his racketeering trial for seven years (1990-97).
He pled guilty to obstruction of justice and admitted his insanity had been faked (April 7, 2003).

Why he might not be annoying:

He had a 21-4 record as a heavyweight club fighter.
He was careful enough that the FBI was never able to catch him on wiretaps.
FBI agent John Pritchard said, 'He was probably the most clever organized crime figure I'd ever seen.'
Ironically, the main witness against him, Peter Savino, had been protected by Gigante when other mobsters wanted to kill him as a suspected informant.
When a prison guard asked if he needed protection from fellow inmates because of his advanced age, he defiantly responded, 'Nobody fucks with me.'
