    Fourteenth Prime Minister of Canada (1963-1968)
    He was called 'Mike' by his friends because they thought the name 'Lester' was not bellicose.
    He was the guy responsible for the Canadian 'maple leaf' flag.
    He was a good athlete in college, excelling in hockey and lacrosse.
    He won the Nobel Peace Prize for creating a Canadian peace-keeping force to deal with the Suez Crisis (1957).
    He is responsible for creating Universal Medicare, healthcare for all Canadians (1966).
    He refused to participate in the Vietnam War with America.
    His refusal and suggestion of a peaceful resolution to the conflict caused President Johnson to grab him by the shirt and shake him furiously.
    His cabinet had three future Prime Ministers, with Pierre Trudeau, John Turner and Jean Chrétien all serving him.
    Pearson International Airport in Toronto is named in his honor.
