Hockey Player

The Resume

Why he might be annoying:

He was known for his extra wide shin pads, which some players felt gave him a distinct advantage while shotblocking.
Despite being one of the league's most consistent defensive defensemen, he was often overshadowed by his defensive partners.
During a brawl in a game against Anaheim, he notoriously elbowed Teemu Selanne in the head.
He struggled to adapt to Al Arbour's coaching style, which was a key factor in the Islanders decision to trade him.
He was often criticized in the New York media for being lazy and unmotivated and having a surly attitude.

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a member of two NCAA Frozen Four championship teams at the University of North Dakota (1980, 1982) and two Stanley Cup championship teams (1986, 1999).
He made the Canadiens right out of college and played 17 NHL seasons without spending any time in the minor leagues.
He was considered one of the NHL's best shot blocking defensemen over the course of his career.
After he was not offered a contract by the Stars following the team's Stanley Cup victory, he contemplated signing with another club, but elected to retire out of loyalty to the organization.
He was instrumental in helping grow the game of hockey in the Dallas-Fort Worth metropolitan area, following the Stars' arrival in the region.
