The Resume

    (August 21, 1919- )
    Born in San Francisco, California
Birth name was Jean Dolores Schmidt
Member of the Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary
Former elementary school teacher, principal, and girls’ basketball coach
    Teacher at Loyola University Chicago
Chaplain for the Loyola Ramblers men's basketball team
Gained national attention when Loyola Chicago made the Final Four of the NCAA 'March Madness' tournament (2018)

Why she might be annoying:

In her bracket, she picked the Ramblers to make it to the Sweet Sixteen and no further. (O, ye of little faith!)
Her bobblehead sold for up to $400 on eBay.
She frequently wore a scarf in the team colors of maroon and gold that made her look like a character from Harry Potter (and more specifically, one associated with Gryffindor).

Why she might not be annoying:

In addition to spiritual guidance, she provides scouting reports and postgame analysis, with guard Donte Ingram noting, ‘She’s like another coach.’
A media tracking company found that during the first two weeks of the 2018 NCAA tournament, she was mentioned in 20,526 stories, compared to 5,681 stories for Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski and 9,727 for Kansas coach Bill Self.
The Guardian declared that she resonated with fans because, ‘She represents the pure and good in a game that is so often corrupt.’
Asked about being a national celebrity, she jokingly replied, ‘Really, if I can correct you, international.’
