Composer
    (June 17, 1818-October 18, 1893)
Wrote ‘Faust (1859)’ and ‘Roméo et Juliette (1864)’
    He was fanatically religious.
He was also a sex maniac, which was not a happy combination.
He joined a monastery, but got kicked out for having sex with women.
While still married himself, he lived in a ménage à trois with another married couple.
Fans of Goethe’s ‘Faust’ book consider the opera version a travesty.
He knew a lot about Renaissance music.
‘Faust’ and ‘Roméo et Juliette’ are still performed today.
‘Faust’ was Queen Victoria’s favorite opera.
His ‘Funeral March for a Marionette’ was used as Alfred Hitchcock’s theme music.
