Golfer
    (April 20, 1851-December 25, 1875)
Born in St. Andrews, Scotland, United Kingdom
Won the British Open four times (1868-70, 1872)
Son of fellow four-time Open champ Old Tom Morris
He was referred to as 'Young Tom' and 'Tommy' to distinguish him from his same-named father.
He won his first exhibition at age 13.
He so dominated the British Open that the contest was suspended in 1871 while authorities tried to figure out how to make it competitive again.
He and Old Tom were the first (and as of 2008 only) father-son combo to finish first and second in the Open (1869).
After winning his third straight Open, he was permanently awarded the Championship Belt, which was replaced by the Claret Jug for subsequent Opens.
He was the first (and as of 2008 only) person to win four consecutive British Opens.
He died three months after his wife died in childbirth.
His father said, 'People say he died of a broken heart, but if that was true, I wouldn't be here either.'
