Why she might be annoying:

Early in her career, she was dubbed 'Lady Overkill' and admitted, 'It used to be that I'd blast out each song, trying to outdo myself each time.'
She had an eating disorder, eventually weighing 230 pounds at only five feet, zero inches in height.
She abused drugs and alcohol, once nearly drowning while tripping on psilocybin.
She was stopped from jumping out a third-floor window by her brother-in-law.

Why she might not be annoying:

She was born prematurely and was blinded by too much oxygen in the incubator.
    She has perfect pitch.
She has a three-and-a-half octave range.
    She lost 100 pounds.
The album 'Diane Schuur and the Count Basie Orchestra' topped Billboard's jazz albums chart for over half a year (33 weeks, to be specific).
