Why Flint, Michigan might be annoying:

Its population went from being nearly a quarter-million (1960) to barely over 100,000 (2010).
It consistently ranks as one of the most dangerous cities in the US.
It is overshadowed by Detroit.
It is the hometown of Michael Moore.
The city suffered from high unemployment and poverty after GM dramatically cut its workforce in the 80's.
They have a minor league football team called 'Flint Fury.'

Why Flint, Michigan might not be annoying:

At least it's not as dangerous as Detroit!
It is the birthplace of General Motors.
Popular 70's rock band Grand Funk Railroad formed here.
During World War II, many of the US Army's war machines were made here.
It had a reputation for being a working class, blue collar city.
