    He wrote some of the cheesiest love ballads of the 80's.
    He is a senior citizen who dyes his hair and dresses like a teenager.
    He joined REO for their 'R.E.O./T.W.O.' album and left after a couple of years, then permanently returned to the band a few years later.
    His constant headbutting with guitarist Gary Richrath caused Richrath to leave the band.
    When he first met his wife, she thought he was a member of R.E.M.
    He hit it big even after Clive Davis told him he would never make it in the music industry.
    He has remained loyal to REO Speedwagon since rejoining and has never tried to leave the band for a solo career.
    He wrote most of the band's hits.
    He appeared on a celebrity edition of the game show 'Don't Forget the Lyrics!' and donated his winnings to charity.
    He is proud of his midwestern roots.
