Recorded the single ‘Key Largo’ (1981) and the album ‘Just Another Day in Paradise’ (1982)

Why he might be annoying:

He began in entertainment as a twelve-year-old ventriloquist.
He spent a night in jail after making threatening phone calls to the mother of his ex-wife’s boyfriend.
He was imprisoned for three months on DUI charges after hitting a car with two teenagers and trying to ram a police cruiser (1995).
He was a one-hit wonder.
He apparently wasn’t paying close attention while watching old Bogart movies: ’Key Largo’ twice uses the line ‘Here’s looking at you, kid,’ which comes from ‘Casablanca’ instead.

Why he might not be annoying:

He worked as a sponge diver.
He was a drummer in Tommy Roe’s backing band, the Roemans.
’Key Largo’ was a top ten hit on Billboard’s pop chart and hit #1 on the adult contemporary chart.
He was huge in Asia, with ‘Just Another Day in Paradise’ becoming the second best-selling album by a Western artist in Japan in 1982.
He has remained a major concert draw in Asia into the 2010s.
