Why he might be annoying:

He was known to break bats and throw things when he struck out.
He was considered a top talent that never materialized, mainly due to his bad temper.
After being drafted by the Mets he decided to go to college, only to change his mind a day later.
He has contempt for older baseball scouts.
He trades away players in their prime, because the team can't afford them.
Commissioner Bud Selig calls him an 'aberration.'
The A's haven't been able to beat the Yankees in the playoffs.

Why he might not be annoying:

He's considered a baseball genius.
His A's have one of the lowest payrolls in baseball.
He perfected a system called 'sabermetrics' that allows him to judge baseball talent purely with stats.
His A's win nearly as many games as the Yankees, even though they have less than half the payroll.
'Moneyball' is one of the best selling baseball books of all-time.
