The Resume

    (circa 1915-circa 1924)
    Born in Seattle, Washington
    Pacific Coast Hockey Association team
Played in the Seattle Ice Arena (1915-1924)
    Won one Stanley Cup (1917)
Hall of Famers: Bobby Rowe, Bernie Morris, Frank Foyston, Hap Holmes and Jack Walker

Why Seattle Metropolitans might be annoying:

When they reached the 1919 Stanley Cup to play against the Montreal Canadiens, there was no official winner because of the spreading of the Spanish Flu (the finals series was 2-2-1).
They lost to the Ottawa Senators in their final Stanley Cup appearance (1920).
They were the first Seattle professional ice hockey team to fold.
They had financial difficulties and bad attendance in their final season.

Why Seattle Metropolitans might not be annoying:

They won their first game 3-2 against the Victoria Aristocrats.
They were the first team from the United States to win the Stanley Cup.
They were also the first Seattle team to win a professional sports championship title (well, if you count them or the NBA's SuperSonics).
Bernie Morris set 14 goals against Montreal for the team during the fourth game of the 1917 Stanley Cup Finals.
Pete Muldoon was their head coach and manager throughout the team's existence.
