    He anglicized the spelling of his first name, as he felt no one was able to pronounce it the Spanish way.
    He had a polarizing relationship with the Toronto media and Blue Jay fans alike.
    He told reporters that the fans could 'kiss his purple butt' after they jeered him for making a crucial error.
    He butted heads with Jimy Williams during the end of his tenure with the Jays, when the latter wanted to convert him to the designated hitter role full-time.
    He was traded to the White Sox in the deal that sent Sammy Sosa to the Cubs.
