    Acted on 'Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman' and in 'The Apostle'
    Wrote two autobiographies 'Among My Klediments (1979)' and 'From My Heart (1987)'

    She may have of had an affair with James Dean.
    She was married to Carl Smith when she fell in love with Johnny.
    She's twice divorced. She was married to her first husband, country music star Carl Smith, throughout the 50's and her second husband, Nashville police officer Rip Nix, for a very brief time. She had a daughter with both men.
    She tried to pursue an acting career in the 50's but failed.

    Tom Petty called her 'the first rock and roll chick.'
    She helped Johnny kick drugs.
    Johnny credited June with helping him quit his addictions to amphetamines even before they were married.
    She performed on many of Johnny's albums and concerts.
    June and her sisters, Helen and Anita, performed as the Carter Sisters back in the 40's.
    Her short-lived solo career was managed by Col. Tom Parker, the man who was behind Elvis.
    She decided to quit her music career to spend her whole time raising her kids and assisting Johnny and his music (1970's-1980's).
    She loved Rick Rubin's involvement with Johnny Cash's music and thanked him every day for it.
    She said to Johnny a few weeks before her death: 'If something happens to me that I can't work, you keep working. You have to work.' After a week of mourning her death, Johnny took her advice and was back in the studio with Rubin.
    She won a Grammy for 'Press On' in 1999.
