    Released the albums 'When Dream and Day Unite,' 'Images and Words,' 'Awake,' 'A Change of Seasons,' 'Falling into Infinity,' 'Scenes from a Memory,' 'Metropolis 2000,' 'Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence'
    They were forced to change their original name of 'Majesty' because another band was already using it.
    They had to support their first album by playing in small clubs and bars, mostly because their label lacked the size and funds to promote a better tour.
    They often changed singers and keyboardists.
    Their first concert DVD release had to be recalled due to technical problems.
    Their live album 'Metropolis 2000' was released on September 11, 2001. The artwork featured a burning apple with the Twin Towers in flames.
    'Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence' features a 42 minute song.
    Mike named his daughter Melody and then named his snare drum after her.
    They use their notoriety as members of 'Dream Theater' to promote their side projects.
    John Petrucci, John Myung, and Mike Portnoy attended the Berklee School of Music.
    Jordan entered the Juilliard School of Music at nine years old to learn classical piano.
    Their first demo tape sold 1000 copies in just a few months and is still in circulation today.
    The members are prolific song writers, often writing enough material to make double albums.
    When not performing together, the members each have their own side bands. All have also recorded solo albums.
    There is an active bootleg video and tape trade of their concerts.
