    Held various coaching positions at the University of Alabama (1993-2000) and Clemson University (2003-08)
    Head coach for the Clemson University football team

    He goes by the nickname 'Dabo,' instead of his real name.
    He was out of football for two years, prior to accepting a coaching position at Clemson.
    His hiring announcement at Clemson was initially considered unpopular by their fanbase.
    Part of the backlash in regards to his hiring was a result of the fact he never served as a coordinator at any level.

    He guided Clemson to the football program's first national football title in 35 years (2016).
