Actress
    (August 23, 1922-September 4, 2015)
    Born in Santa Monica, California
Birth name was Dorothy Jean LeVake
Appeared in 35 'Our Gang' shorts (1927-29)
Also appeared in 'Jane Eyre' (1933) and 'Babes in Toyland' (1934)
The Allmovie guide calls her the 'blonde bombshell' of the Our Gang kids, which seems an odd way to describe a five year old.
She turned down a chance to return to Hollywood in Mickey Rooney's Andy Hardy films.
She said, 'It is bad enough for an adult to reach the height of your career and after that to return to normal. As a child, it was disastrous.'
She received a scholarship from the New York Municipal Opera Association.
She had a starring role in the original Broadway production of Carousel (1945).
After settling in Dublin in the 70s, she appeared on Irish public television as the presenter of 'Aunt Poppy's Story Time.'
She had over 50 short stories published in the Alfred Hitchcock and Ellery Queen mystery magazines.
She was the last surviving cast member from the 'Our Gang' films' silent era.
She continued appearing at Our Gang and Laurel and Hardy conventions into her 80s.
