    Notable credits include 'Mary Poppins' (1964), 'The Jungle Book' (1967), 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' (1968), and 'The Aristocats' (1970)

Why they might be annoying:

    Their work is primarily relegated to mostly Disney films and theme parks.
    They composed music for the box office bomb 'Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland (1992).'
    Robert was nicknamed 'Moose.'
    Richard was divorced.

    They were sons of Russian-Jewish immigrants.
    During World War II, Robert inadvertently led a half squad of men into Dachau Concentration Camp, making them the first Allied troops to enter the camp after it had been evacuated by the fleeing German military only hours earlier.
    They wrote more motion-picture musical song scores than any other songwriting team in film history.
    They each won two Oscars in 1965 for 'Mary Poppins' (two for Original Score and two for Original Song).
    In 2008, President George W. Bush awarded them the National Medal for the Arts, the highest honor for the arts bestowed by the US government.
