Why he might be annoying:

He dressed like a dandy to mask the faults of his physical stature.
He was an extremely left-wing politician devoted to the political writings of Jean-Jacques Rousseau.
He urged the mob to execute King Louis XVI so that a 'hundred thousand virtuous citizens' would be spared death.
He was largely responsible for being the mouthpiece for the 'Reign of Terror,' which killed innocent people.
His 'Committee of Public Safety' was anything but safe to the public, and turned France into a police state.
He said: 'Terror is nothing other than justice, prompt, severe, inflexible.'
His policies created disorder and confusion in France, making it internally weak at a time when Western Europe was quite aggressive.
He gave a four hour speech, declaring an end to the 'Reign of Terror,' which accused everyone other than himself of being unjust and exceeding their powers (July 26, 1794).

Why he might not be annoying:

He was a decent orator.
He was shot in the lower jaw by a police officer on the day of his execution.
