The Resume

    (February 10, 1955- )
    Nicknamed 'The Shark'
Winner of 20 PGA Tour events including 1986, 1993 British Open
Winner of nearly 60 international titles
First player to surpass $10 Million in career PGA Tour earnings (1996)
Member of 10 Dunhill Cup teams
Member of World Golf Hall of Fame (2001)
Chairman of Great White Shark Enterprises
Has his own clothing line and wine label
Known for his Panama Hats and shark logo

Why he might be annoying:

He led all four major championships entering the final round, but only won the British Open (1986).
He is known for throwing away opportunities in tournament play, and should have won more than 2 major championships in his career.
His most infamous collapse was at the Masters, where he gave up a six shot lead to lose to Nick Faldo by five (1996).
Out of 23 PGA Tournaments that he had led after three rounds, he only won 8 of them.
The steps of his house were where Bill Clinton broke his ankle (1996).
    He rarely signs autographs.
He promoted King Cobra golf clubs, but on the course, he just had the King Cobra name plastered over his old clubs.
He had his management company (IMG) create the World Golf Ranking in the mid 80s so he could earn more appearance fees in worldwide tournaments.
He and Rupert Murdoch tried to create the World Tour, which would have had 8 limited field events around the world with a $3 Million purse for each event (1994).
Shortly after the announcement, he skipped the 1994 Johnnie Walker World Championship, a World Tour-esque event.
After getting little support from other golfers, he claimed that he had nothing to do with the World Tour, just supported it (Februrary 1995).

Why he might not be annoying:

He has a strain of turf grass named after him.
    He is a natural blonde.
Many of his major championship losses were really caused by lucky shots by his competition rather than choking entirely.
Despite never winning The Masters, he has won over $1 Million in it.
He got a lifetime exemption from the PGA Tour in 2002 when they decided to include the British Open as an official win, giving him the 20 he needed for the exemption.
He had to go through local qualifying process for the US Open (2002).
He is partially responsible for America's obsession with Australia in the 80s.
He wears clothes from his own clothing line (that the general public can buy) during tournaments.
His celebrity status inspired the creation of the Presidents Cup, a match play event similar to the Ryder Cup that allows non-Europeans to compete against Americans.
The major golf tours of the world created the World Golf Championships, a set of four events of similar caliber that Norman envisioned in the World Tour (1999).
He ranked #60 (1999) and #68 (2001) in Forbes Power List.
