Why he might be annoying:

    He simplifies complex economic situations into shallow catch phrases.
    He is fond of using incomprehensible metaphors and imagery.
    He plugs several companies in his books.
    He believes every country should subject itself to the will of multinational corporations.
    He is extremely self-important and places the praises of his friends on the back of his books.
    He believes in a 'War of Ideas' where critics of U.S. foreign policy (like those who opposed the 2003 Iraqi invasion) are censored and bullied.
    He has a tendency to almost completely ignore all negative aspects of globalization.
    He openly says 'The Economist' and advertisers are his two biggest sources.

Why he might not be annoying:

    He is a media darling, with many singing his praises.
    His books are usually best-sellers.
    He has won numerous awards for his reporting.
